FPD completes DIVArchive installation

Front Porch Digital (FPD), the Broadcast and Media Division of Incentra Solutions, has announced that it has completed a new Distributed Intelligent Versatile (DIV) Archive installation dedicated to the high definition (HD) content of VOOM HD Networks.
It is the largest and most diverse suite of high definition channels nationwide and currently available nationally on DISH Network.
The high-capacity DIVArchive system will enable VOOM, a subsidiary of Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, to manage efficient storage of the network's significant library of large HD files.
"The programming we provide on VOOM HD Networks is the largest and most diverse offering of HD content available anywhere, and Front Porch Digital's DIVArchive will enable us to preserve, manage, and access this large store of HD media using a reliable, scalable infrastructure with a proven track record in large-scale implementations," said Steven Pontillo, Senior Vice President of Technology for Rainbow Media Holdings.

The transaction was completed as part of the five-year exclusive contract signed in 2003 between Front Porch and Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Cablevision. The company's VOOM HD Networks channels include movies, sports, music, travel, fashion, the arts, cartoons, and news — all in stunning HD.
