UPPER CLASS COMMERCIALS POST AT RUSHES

News Image
NEW Virgin Atlantic’s ‘Upper Class’ Big Seat commercials were post produced at Rushes, one of Europe’s special effects and post production houses.
The four commercials feature Malcolm McLaren, Marianne Faithful, Simon Callow and Anna Friel talking about the luxury of flying Virgin Atlantic and what they all love about the airline in their own inimitable style.
The films are all set in a theatrical context and feature a giant Virgin Atlantic chair, set in a large vaulted studio, lit in opulent red tones.
Paul Hannaford, Inferno Operator, said: “Our work on this mainly involved taking what the director shot and evoking a theatrical style. We did this by taking shots of, for example, the speech marks in Simon Callow’s film and adding them in suspended on wires. We also graded the film and added detail to the actors makeup to enhance the style.”
Other work included placing Marianne Faithful onto a giant outstretched hand, which gives the illusion of her sleeping in a bed.
