Granada International's reality and docs head to Scandanavia

Leading television distributor Granada International has sold two ground breaking documentaries and a new entertainment reality show to broadcasters in Scandinavia, it was announced today by Nadine Nohr, Managing Director.
Powerful documentary, ‘My Skin Could Kill Me’, has been acquired by TV Danmark, TV Norge and Kanal 5 in Sweden. ‘60 Minute Makeover’ starring Claire Sweeney has been picked up by TV Norge in Norway and ‘Born in the USSR: 21 Up’ documentary has been sold to state broadcaster SVT Sweden.
‘My Skin Could Kill Me’ follows four remarkable girls suffering from the life-threatening and incurable genetic skin condition known as Harlequin Ichthyosis. They are the only two sets of siblings in the world with this, the most severe form of continuous scaling of the skin. The programme follows both pairs of sisters as they help genetic scientists study the debilitating disease. All have provided DNA in the hope that a successful treatment, or even a cure, can be found. Meanwhile, the four children and their families face a relentless daily routine to protect their skin and fight the odds to live happy, normal lives.
‘60 Minute Makeover’ is the design series with a difference - the fastest turnaround home makeover show on TV. Claire Sweeney and the 60 Minute Makeover team have just one hour to transform at least four rooms and provide an instant style injection using quick fixes and clever cover ups, and inspires viewers with ideas and tips for speedy facelifts in their own homes.
‘Born in the USSR: 21 Up’ is a fascinating social documentary that revisits a group of Russian children at seven year intervals to track their personal development against a backdrop of incredible social and political change.
Following the success of the UK original, this particular film looks at life for a group of young people from the former Soviet Union. The adults here, all introduced to viewers at the age of seven and seen again at 14, were born in a country that no longer exists. Their stories provide a fascinating insight into the break-up of the former Soviet Union as well as a reflection of what life has become without Communism.
