VIDEOSONICS INSTALL SECOND THX DUBBING THEATRE

News Image
UK STUDIO design consultancy Munro Associates have completed a second, THX-approved film dubbing theatre for Videosonics, one of London’s premier audio post-production companies.
Videosonics’ new Theatre B (pictured) is located at Delancey Street and mirrors Theatre A, the company’s flagship THX-approved dubbing facility that opened in 1998.
Both rooms incorporate the same equipment including JBL surround sound monitoring with THX-approved digital crossovers and a 500-path AMS Neve Digital Film Console operated in conjunction with two 32-track AudioFiles.
Dennis Weinreich, Videosonics Managing Director, said: “There has always been a great deal of demand for Theatre A but it was getting to the point where clients who needed to complete an urgent remix couldn’t be accommodated. Our solution was to build a second, identical room so that work can be switched seamlessly between the two.”
Operating from two locations in Camden Town, North London, their two studios in Hawley Crescent focus on television post-production, while their Delancey Street facilities concentrate on mixing feature film and television drama programming.
Munro Associates were called in the handle the design work while their sister company, Form and Funktion, took charge of all aspects of the theatre’s construction and specialist furniture design. (CMcL)
