Pinewood Shepperton buy three more VCubes
Pinewood Shepperton Studios have equipped their dubbing studios with three more of Merging Technologies’ highly successful VCube hard disk video player/recorder systems.
This brings the total number of systems installed at the studio to five.
The systems were supplied and installed by Merging’s UK distributors Total Audio Solutions and were used recently in the production of Ridley Scott’s spectacular ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ and Andrzej Bartkowiak’s ‘Doom’.
Trevor Griffin, Chief Engineer and Technical Manager for the group, said: “We ordered three more basically because we really like them and they have proved to be very reliable; in fact, we are hoping to order three more soon.”
The VCube systems are specified with SDI, composite and component in & and out + DVI out for picture. The audio is 4 analogue in, 6 analogue out, 8 AES/EBU in/out. Hard disk configuration is a 600GB internal SATA RAID. They have a 9-pin remote control and Time code chase and a 17” TFT monitor.
