SNELL & WILCOX INSTALL SWITCHER FOR CRAWFORD

UK COMPANY Snell & Wilcox have recently installed a HD1012 multi-standard switcher in Crawford Communications new Atlanta facility.
Ron Heidt, Crawford's senior technical director, said: “I chose the Snell & Wilcox 1012 switcher specifically for its unique capability to edit both standard definition and high definition and its ability to switch from one function to the other with limited interruption in production.”
Snell & Wilcox say that designers have hailed the HD1012 as a powerful tool for post-production and telecine applications, fitting well in linear on-line editing and on-air production. The unit’s mixer/effects (M/E) capabilities include a choice of chromakeyer and internal DVE options.
The unit also features a 9Gb internal hard drive for the storage of more than 1000 uncompressed stills; an integrated 3.5" floppy drive for storing sequences; and an integrated Zip drive for stills input and archiving.
