Creative Channel helps client win major safety award

A health and safety induction video produced by Creative Channel has helped WBB Minerals win a major industry award.
The video was submitted as part of the company’s entry in a prestigious annual competition run by the Quarry Products Association in the category ‘Control of Contractors’.
Although the award was given on the basis of WBB Minerals’ system for control of contractors as a whole, the video received specific mention by the judge at the recent awards ceremony. In particular, it was noted that some contractors interviewed during the final stage of the competition could remember being shown the video a full two years after their site induction.
WBB Minerals is one of the world’s leading providers of industrial minerals, with operations in nine countries across Europe. Extraction (quarrying) and processing of minerals, has many inherent dangers and safety is at the top of WBB Minerals’ list of priorities.
The video, which features an animated character ‘Morris the Miner’ arriving at destination on a specially devised board game, and includes location material filmed at four of WBB Minerals quarries in the UK, forms a key element of the safety programme undertaken by all new employees and contractors.
