ORF takes delivery of further 18 x Zandar MultiViewers

Following possibly the largest MultiViewer order in Europe this year, ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster, has taken a further delivery of 18 units of Zandar DX Series MultiViewer systems as part of a major upgrade to its national distribution and monitoring network.
Although experienced multi image display users, ORF once again evaluated the available systems and technologies suitable for this important national project. ORF concluded that the range of features, reliability and cost effectiveness of Zandar products made them ideally suited for its important national and regional transmission network monitoring suites.
After competitive market evaluation ORF placed an order with ETAS GmbH, Zandar's Austrian distributor, for 18 units of DX Series MultiViewer systems for its HKR (main control room) project. Renowned for its video and audio monitoring capabilities as well as a multi image display system, the DX was chosen since it could also provide monitoring of audio embedded within the SDI source signals.
Walter Winzel, Project Manager and Director of ETAS, said: "This is a key project for ORF and their choice was governed in the knowledge that Zandar are one of the world’s leading multi viewer developers and manufacturers. ORF already have a great deal of experience of the DX-16 since they have been using them for the last 4 years and have continuously been impressed with their quality, reliability and functionality"
In total ORF now has 48 DX MultiViewers deployed at its headquarters in Vienna as well as its regional broadcast studios. This last purchase will be used in a critical application in the national distribution ring, where their primary function is to provide monitoring of incoming and outgoing contribution and distribution feeds around the Austrian TV network. This latest order is further testament to Zandar's position as the leader in multi image technology as well as the originators of multi image viewers and a prime choice for mission critical installations.
