TASCAM release new production system

Since its introduction a decade ago, TASCAM’s ubiquitous DA-88, with its DTRS digital recording format, has enabled affordable digital tracking, dubbing, stems recording and transfer throughout the film, video, television and postproduction industries.
The design tenets that determined its success – portability, professional standards of construction, operational reliable of hardware and software systems, ease of use and integration within the existing production environment – have informed the development of TASCAM’s latest production systems for the digital workstation based environment. The MX-2424 hard disk recorder and DM-24 digital console provide clear cost and operational capability breaks in an increasingly competitive market place.
The MX-2424 24 track, 24-bit hard disk recorder and editing system, offers a versatile, cost efficient alternative to tape in a wide range of production applications. Operable in tape emulation and non-linear modes, it comes complete with a powerful waveform editing programme running under Mac or Windows OS. Integration extends to interfacing with IDE and SCSI drives, BWAV and SDII audio files, time-stamped Pro Tools projects and other DAW formats.
The DM-24 is unique in providing a 32-channel, eight-bus, 24-bit/ 96 kHz, console with full scale production capabilities and a comprehensive, professional user interface, in a compact frame, to partner the MX-2424.
