Autodesk and Ballistic Publishing announce ELEMENTAL 2

Autodesk and Ballistic Publishing (Adelaide, Australia) have announced the call for entries for ELEMENTAL 2, a coffee table-style art book of high-resolution images that will be published to showcase ideas realised by artists, architects and inventors who use Autodesk content creation solutions.
The book will reflect winning designs, artwork, renderings and artistic visions from Autodesk customers who create, manage and share their ideas in the categories of architectural, product and design visualisation, 3D still images, animation and game development.
Submissions for ELEMENTAL 2 close on Monday October 3 2005.
Digital images for consideration to be included in ELEMENTAL 2 should be predominantly created using Autodesk software products. Images should be digitally created fine art, whether 2D or 3D, for commercial use or personal artistic satisfaction – any creation that exemplifies the artists’ ideas realised. Artwork can be submitted in the following categories: Interior Visualisation, Exterior Visualisation, Character in Repose, Character in Action, Creature in Repose, Environment, Product Design, Abstract & Design, Humourous and Transport.
There is no cost to enter, nor is there a limit to the number of works entrants may submit for consideration. In the legacy of all Ballistic Publishing showcase publications, all artists with work published in ELEMENTAL 2 will receive a complementary copy of the book and will enjoy worldwide exposure in this second premier collection of Autodesk-created artwork.
“At Autodesk, our software solutions act as the infrastructure that supports the imagination and helps our customers realise their ideas,” said Marc Petit, vice president of product development and operations. “We’re delighted to reach out once again to our global community of artists to showcase their work in ELEMENTAL 2, a continuation of the phenomenal creative visions our customers constantly awe and inspire us with.”
The ELEMENTAL 2 Awards will be judged by a highly talented group of industry leaders and artists including: Pascal Blanché (Art Director at Ubisoft), Michael Flynn (Freelance virtual space designer), Benoit Girard (President of Digital Dimension), Peter Moxom (Industry manager for Animation, Autodesk Media & Entertainment Asia Pacific), Susannah Skerl (Instructor at The Art Institute Vancouver), Robert Stava (Creative Director for Arup’s 3D Media Group), Marcin Wasko (3D artist for Platige Image), Vincent Brisebois (Application Engineer and 3D animation artist, Autodesk Media & Entertainment division) and Maurice Conti (Autodesk Creative Director).
Artwork to be considered for ELEMENTAL 2 needs to be submitted before October 3 2005. Further submission guidelines and electronic upload instructions are available at: www.ballisticpublishing.com/bsw.
