Globalstor introduce new ExtremeStar-DI PRO

Globalstor Data Corporation, designer and builder of high end, high performance Digital Intermediate (DI) servers has announced the Globalstor ExtremeStor-DI PRO server based on Dual Core AMD Opteron processors.
This innovative 2K/4K DI solution now includes two Dual Core AMD Opteron processors for even faster processing of uncompressed 2K/4K, HD and SD video files for a broad range of professional video applications including: video editing, colour correction, scratch removal, visual effects, capture playback, and more.
Widely recognised as a premier platform for Digital Intermediate applications, the addition of multi-core processing provides ExtremeStor-DI users with unmatched performance while conducting multiple computing tasks simultaneously. As a result, professional colourists and postproduction facilities can experience true multitasking capability without sacrificing video quality.
Dual Core AMD Opteron processors enable simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing and eliminate the 4GB memory barrier imposed by traditional 32-bit only systems. Integrating Dual Core AMD Opteron processors in the ExtremeStor-DI provides video professionals with improved system efficiency and application performance for running multiple digital intermediate applications simultaneously and for streaming multi-threaded applications. In addition, AMD64's Direct Connect Architecture evolves industry standards to deliver break-through performance on dual-core processors by directly connecting processors, memory controllers and I/O to ensure that the ExtremeStor-DI will not only meet current application needs, but those in the future as well.
The ExtremeStor-DI incorporates 24, 250GB hot-swappable SATA hard drives for up to 6TB of local storage or 24, 500GB hot-swappable SATA hard drives for up to 12TB, and can be scaled externally via SCSI or Fibre.
Paired with Dual Core AMD Opteron processors, ExtremeStor-DI significantly reduces bottlenecks through AMD's Direct Connect Architecture and provides digital content professionals with optimised performance in a broad range of networked video applications.
A complete Digital Intermediate solution, ExtremeStor-DI with two Dual Core AMD Opteron processors provides up to 1000MB/sec sustained performance and supports either Windows XP Pro or Windows XP Pro 64 Bit operating systems.
