ISMA members demonstrate seamless interoperability at IBC

Actively participating at IBC2005, members of the Internet Streaming Media Alliance (ISMA) will be demonstrating seamless interoperability between standards-based products and presenting in broadband and video sessions.
In the AVC Alliance demonstration area, stand 4.388, the superior video and audio quality gained by implementing technologies such as AVC/H.264 and HE-AAC will be showcased. Attendees visiting the demonstration can learn how the adoption of open-standards based technologies for IP-based content delivery provides superior quality, interoperability and efficiency. ISMA member companies participating in this demonstration include Apple, Envivio, and Fraunhofer.
On Friday the 9th September, at 14:30 - 17:30 hrs, in Room A, Jean-Francois Fleury of Thomson Broadband R&D Beijing, China will represent ISMA at the conference in a presentation titled Content Delivery - New Solutions are Born. His presentation will focus on the need for standards that the increasing number of IPTV deployments worldwide entail.
As the delivery of digital content can now be achieved over a wide range of data platforms and physical media from copper and cable to radio and satellite - this session looks at the issues for some of these platforms and the development of important techniques like on-channel repeaters and statistical multiplexing. On the consumer front, the session considers Video on Demand and Multimedia Home Platform interoperability.
On Monday, the 12 of September from 09.00 - 12.00, the MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF) is presenting an informational business seminar at IBC entitled The Video Ecosystem. Attendees can gain an inside perspective on the future of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video and other emerging MPEG technologies, as well as, learn about the importance of IP distribution and how it will affect the ubiquity of video entertainment. Industry experts representing the most influential players in next generation video entertainment multimedia and standards-based streaming will exchange their views on trends and technologies that are changing the way digital multimedia is created, compressed, and delivered. The roundtable discussions will include members of the ISMA.
