HOLDAN LAUNCH DATAVIDEO VDR 3000
HOLDAN have launched the Datavideo VDR 3000 that records video and audio on to standard CD-R or CD-RW discs.
It is a stand-alone unit with standard composite and Y/C inputs / outputs. In addition it also features RGB / YUV outputs, an optical digital audio input, microphone input and the option of a DV input.
It can record video in four different formats; VCD that is supported by most DVD players and any PC with a CD-ROM, SVCD which is supported by any PC with CD-ROM and DVD playback software and many DVD Players, and two new formats HQ-VCD and CD-DVD. It can also record still images in Photo DVD format and audio in standard audio CD format.
The VDR 3000 is the first recorder to support CD-DVD. CD-DVD is a revolutionary format that gives full D1 DVD quality on standard CD-R’s. CD-DVD can be played in any PC with a CD-ROM or in many of the latest DVD players. Video is recorded to disc at a data rate of 4.8Mbps.
HQ-VCD greatly reduces the mosaic effect that VCD has always suffered from. It gives excellent results at a data rate of 2.4Mbps, which gives around 40 minutes recording time on a 650MB disc.
The VDR 3000 costs £766 and the DV version £1020 ex VAT.
