DirecTV selects Leitch's multi-format on-screen test instruments

Leitch Technology Corporation has announced that DirecTV has selected its VideotekR VTM-450E HD/SD multi-format on-screen test instruments and VSG-204D serial digital sync generators as integral components in their multi-year high-definition (HD) expansion project at DirecTV broadcast centres in Los Angeles, California, and Castle Rock, Colorado.
DirecTV, the nation's leading digital television service and the second largest multi-channel video program distributor in the United States based on the number of subscribers, has placed an initial order for more than 30 of the VTM-450E HD/SD models. The ongoing expansion is expected to require more than 70 units to provide monitoring of HD signals at each location.
