Abit to showcases Time-Shift at IBC 2005

Abit is to showcase its innovative Time-Shift solution for flexible opt-outs in addition to enhanced secondary event handling at IBC 2005.
The bespoke broadcast automation leader will also demonstrate results of its challenge from customers to select an item it should control as a demonstration of its integration ability - the device does not have to be broadcast-related and has previously been a kettle, a flying saucer and a party hooter.
A powerful add-on to Abit’s core automation solutions, Time-Shift controls multiple master and slave channels to take care of opt-out-duration mismatches with little or no manual intervention. It allows broadcasters to tailor channels for different regions with variations in commercials, subtitles or other logos.
In addition, Abit is facilitating secondary events workflows, such as graphics, with separate programming of each event, or alternatively coordination in a dynamic, live schedule. The company is also to confirm future-proof compatibility with a wider choice of operating systems.
Meanwhile, Abit will introduce a new streamlined hardware package with the flexibility to incorporate a range of hot-swappable components and redundancy options.
“Abit is proud of its ability to tailor its products to any broadcasters needs,” said Abit’s Head of Engineering Andrew Kennedy. “IBC is the ideal platform to discuss our industry-leading solutions that can control anything in the broadcast environment.”
