Pyser-SGI adds new design Spotflux to range

Sole UK/Ireland distributor Pyser-SGI Limited has introduced the new design Spotflux system to its range of Balcar products for studio cool fluorescent lighting.
Spotflux is used to create shadows and generally increase contrast. Most fluorescent soft lights illuminate an area evenly, but Spotflux is used instead of a standard slightly diffused Fresnel spot as a keylight, accent light or hair light.
The new line Spotflux 2 & 4 soft spot directional lighting fixtures offer compact ultra slim bodies, and high light outputs, up to 18,000 candelas with the Spotflux 2 and up to 21,000 using the Spotflux 4, depending on reflector size. Both fixtures can use either tungsten or daylight long life lamps giving up to 10,000 hours use without degradation.
Reflectors of 30, 45 or 60cm diameter are available to meet all studio needs. The lighting angle depends on the reflector used, thereby illuminating a specific area as close-in as 2m and up to a distance of 6m. The effect and feel of the light is thus closer to a Fresnel spot than the traditional 'soft' fluorescent fixtures.
Constructed of painted aluminium and steel, these robust, yet lightweight fixture units utilise Balcar's 55 kHz high frequency ballasts, dimmable using phase or DMX control systems. With inherently low power consumption, the Spotflux 2 uses only 85 watts and the Spotflux 4 just 170 watts. Thus running costs are extremely low.
Accessories include grid spots; front diffuser; pole operated yoke for pan and tilt; cases and bags; clamps, stands and rigging; and dimmer consoles and cables.
