SMITH TO COMMENT ON WHITE PAPER AT VLV SEMINAR
THE Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Chris Smith, is scheduled to speak about the government's White Paper on Regulating Communications at a Voice of the Listener and Viewer (VLV) Westminster Seminar to be held at the House of Commons.
VLV Chairman, Jocelyn Hay, who will chair the event on February 1, said: “This will be the only occasion on which the Secretary of State will address a truly open audience. We are delighted he will speak and take questions on the White Paper before the public consultation ends on February 12.”
VLV will also hold the following events: 'Broadcasting and Wales: the new future for Communications: on March 14; 'More Broadcasting: Fewer Rules' on April 5.
Sue MacGregor, journalist, broadcaster and presenter of Radio 4's ‘Today’ programme will present the winners of VLV's Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting in 2000 with their Awards during the conference on June 6-8.
