DVS LAUNCH DIGIEMULATOR RECORDER

DIGITAL Video Systems has launched DigiEMULATOR Recorder a high end computer that thinks it is a DigiBeta.
This unit is capable of emulating the functions of a high-performance uncompressed D1 and D5 video playback/recorder. Using its own disk array the DigiEMULATOR can provide up to several hours worth of video storage.
Applications for this all-in-one storage solution include all kinds of post-production work using uncompressed video and audio including graphics, rendering, animation, rotoscoping and non-linear editing.
Supplied in either 3U or 4U formats depending on the users requirements, the DigiEMULATOR Recorder offers a high speed and high quality in a cost effective and easily expandable platform. Running under Windows NT, Solaris, Linux or IRIX, the system is compatible with a wide range of platforms to suit user requirements and will integrate seamlessly into many post-production environments.
The DigiEMULATOR Recorder provides multi-standard D1 and D5, in true 16:9 aspect ratio at rasters of 50 and 60Hz. Multi-partitioned video storage allows users to work on projects in differing video standards.
An optional daughter board adds RGB/4:4:4, YUV-Alpha/4:2:2:2, and RGB-Alpha/4:4:4:4 input/output formats to the system. Further options include the possibility of YUV or RGB independent of the format. As with conventional digital VTRs the system provides four sound channels that are stored with the video, but an optional AES/EBU board allows sound to be stored on a separate audio disk for flexibility when slipsyncing audio and video.
The DigiEMULATOR Recorder control software comes with various software
tools operated via a graphical user interface, a web server, or command line interface. Functions supported include data transfer between the DigiEMULATOR Recorder, VTRs, and local hard disks from local and remote hosts.
The optional ClipManager supports easy-to-use audio and video clip administration as well as manipulation of non-linear play lists.
