QUARTZ ACQUIRE METAWAVE RANGE

QUARTZ Electronics have announced a major expansion of their product range with the acquisition of the design and production rights to the full range of Metawave routing systems.
Metawave's 256x256 and larger SDI routers are very popular in Europe, with many prominent broadcasters using large configurations as their main station router.
Following the acquisition, the product range now extends up to 256x256 and beyond, covering all video and audio formats. All routers in the range are integrated into Quartz's control system, a powerful platform offering ease of use combined with extensive features and a wide range of control panels.
The complete range of SDI and AES routing products will be displayed at the Production Show (London, Booth 390) and NAB 2001 (Las Vegas, Booth L977). Complementing these products, Quartz will be introducing High Definition routing products at NAB with the new range supporting customers' needs for the migration from SD to HD.
Formed in 1990, Quartz Electronics Limited have achieved a high reputation for the reliability and flexibility of their routing and system-control equipment. Responding to customer needs, the company have produced solutions to meet the technical and operational demands imposed in live broadcasting.
The Metawave design and products rights acquisition follows an Administration Order placed on the company's former management on January 15, 2001. (GB)
