WINDMILL LANE NOTCHES UP CHANNEL 4 COUP

WINDMILL Lane have been brought in by BAFTA award-winner Damian O'Donnell (East Is East) to work on the new Mike Figgis project for Film Four.
O'Donnell has been brought in to direct the behind-the-scenes and EPK footage that will be broadcast daily over the Internet. The film, called ‘Hotel’ will be shot in Venice in April.
Windmill's Lee Hickey, an off-line editor who has worked on a variety of programmes, commercials and pop promos as well as with U2 on Popmart, will be working closely with O'Donnell on this project. Hickey has just completed work on ‘Private Dancer’, a documentary on Dublin lap dancing clubs, directed by Alan Gilsenan, which will air on RTE in February.
Windmill Lane have also been given the nod to edit three half-hour programmes for Channel 4 titled ‘Dublin Nights’ for Liverpool-based production company Planet Wild, which is part of the Channel 24 group. Editing honours on ‘Dublin Nights’ again go to Lee Hickey. ‘Dublin Nights’ producer is John Mulson and Garry Keane will direct.
Windmill are also dry hiring their Avid to Neurotica, a New York based production company, who are cutting a feature film with Windmill. Directed by PJ Dillon and edited by Eamonn Power, the feature will be released in the States. Like the ‘Stargate SG-1’ post production work this too is an NTSC project for Windmill Lane. (CMcL)
