WAM!NET SELECT BOXX TECHNOLOGIES PLATFORM

BOXX Technologies have announced that their high performance hardware and software platform, designed specifically for the entertainment and digital film industries, has been selected by WAM!NET.
The platform will act as the foundation for WAM!NET's industry-first, fully scalable video encoding, decoding and delivery service for its studio, broadcast, agency and corporate customers.
Offering digitising, transport and storage capabilities for a wide range of compressed and uncompressed video formats, including high definition (HD), WAM!NET's Video Services provide customisable multi-channel, multi-format support that enable television and film producers to collaborate online in the production and distribution of video files within WAM!NET's secure, global managed network. Additionally, the service allows for video playback of HD rendered frames through WAM!NET's Render On Demand Service.
Delivered on a transaction or pay-per-use basis, WAM!NET's Video Services extend the company’s portfolio of managed network, storage, hosting and application services for companies that produce, distribute and manage rich media content.
The service takes advantage of BOXX Technologies' proven hardware and software solutions for the entertainment industry. As a leading provider of HD savvy systems, BOXX Technologies enables industry-recognised compositing, editing, and rendering packages to seamlessly create HD and higher resolution quality content.
Allen Witters, Chief Technology Officer, WAM!NET said BOXX’s industry leading technology would offer an unprecedented price-to-performance platform that delivers the flexibility and scalability that complex workflows require. Our Video Services help customers to accelerate their transition from a dub-and-ship process to a completely digital creation, production, distribution and archival workflow that delivers immediate time-to-market and cost savings.”
Todd Bryant, Chief Executive Officer BOXX Technologies, said: “By combining the strength of the BOXX platform with the robust network of services at WAM!NET, we feel this joint development will not only enable studios, broadcasters, and agencies to increase quality and bring productions to market faster, it will help to accelerate the acceptance and use of high definition.” (CMcL)
