Leitch installs new X75HD at The Hospital

Leitch Technology, one of the leading providers of HD solutions for professional digital video, has announced that Europe's first multi-camera HD studio facility, The Hospital, London, has purchased its new X75(TM)HD multiple path converter and synchroniser.
The X75HD will initially be used to provide HD down-conversion and synchronisation for a live BBC production in The Hospital's HD studios.
Paul Daniels, chief engineer at The Hospital, said: "The new X75HD is exceptional in that it includes all the key functions we need to enable us to do more video processing with less equipment. It's the ability to process 'any format in' to 'any format out' that makes the X75HD a most effective solution for HD and SD/HD hybrid facilities."
In addition to straightforward down-conversion and synchronisation, the video processing features of the X75HD include simultaneous up- and down-conversion with aspect ratio conversion for hybrid standard- and high-definition facilities; level/colour control; optional 3D adaptive colour decoding with time base correction; and optional noise reduction.
The X75HD's 16 channels of internal audio processing include timing with video for lip sync corrections; level control; A/D and D/A conversion; embedded processing for both SDI and HD-SDI serial digital signals and integrated DolbyR decompression.
The X75HD continues to gain significant momentum across the industry and has provided support at several recent high-profile events, further underscoring the industry's rapid acceptance of this versatile, all-in-one solution.
