Thomson wins Frost & Sullivan 2004 award
For the fourth consecutive year, Thomson has won the Frost & Sullivan 2004 Market Engineering Leadership Award.
Based on a recent study by the growth consulting firm, the company’s Grass Valley Profile XP Media Platform server won in the 'Compressed Broadcast Video Server Market' category.
Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions accounts for more than a third of the shares in the compressed video market on the strength of its flagship video server. The Emmy award-winning Grass Valley Profile line of video servers is the industry's most flexible platform, supporting multiple compression formats, as well as standard- and high-definition (SD and HD) materials.
“As the largest broadcast and TV/film equipment innovator in the world, Thomson has made major investments in research and development of digital media technology,” said Mukul Krishna, Industry Analyst for Frost & Sullivan. “With the continued release of next generation products the company is expected to maintain this leadership and further increase its market share.”
Marc Valentin, Executive Vice President of Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions, said: “This award validates Thomson’s continued development efforts, which have led to the introduction of the Grass Valley Profile 6G family and considerable workflow benefits for our customers.
“We’re honoured to once again receive this prestigious award.”
The Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Leadership Award is given each year to the company that has substantially increased its market share by implementing innovative Market Engineering strategies.
