DB HAWKEYE SYSTEMS FOR WEATHERPLUS

CAMBRIDGESHIRE-based systems integrators, dB Broadcast, have supplied six of their Hawkeye systems to WeatherPlus.
WeatherPlus is an innovative new TV service which combines localised weather and traffic information on a 24 hours a day, seven days a week, basis.
Headquartered in the US, just outside Philadelphia, and with their operations centre in Atlanta, Georgia, WeatherPlus plans to launch in up to six European countries this year. Their first European venture, in Holland, is already up and running. Weather forecasts from Atlanta are combined with up to the moment localised traffic reports in the Netherlands, and broadcast through a network of six cable headends. Remote monitoring and control is an essential part of the transmission plan.
dB's Hawkeye systems are located at the Dutch headends, and controlled from Atlanta. On detection of any failure, Atlanta can override local control if they choose to do so. The PC software for monitoring and control was written as a custom package for WeatherPlus by dB Broadcast.
