DVS HELP CHELSEA FC AND VIRGIN TO GO INTERACTIVE

DIGITAL Video Systems (DVS), The Science Museum, and Dicoll have won an order for six interactive kiosk systems for Chelsea FC.
Peter Bailes, SM Interactive Media Unit, designed and created the content software for Chelsea FC.
He said: “When developing the demanding creative content for ‘The History of Chelsea FC’, I realised I needed quality MPEG2 through VGA output. The obvious choice for us was DVS, with their expertise in Digital Video and MPEG2 controlled delivery systems, having developed, built and supplied nearly 300 systems, mainly for the Welcome Wing, over the past two years.”
DVS have also been approached by Virgin Atlantic for their expertise in developing the delivery of digital video for next generation systems.
Virgin use a pod containing 12 seats simulating part of a cabin to demonstrate new seat concepts, which are equipped for the next generation of demanding traveller.
By using touch screens, Virgin could provide high quality MPEG2 video selection to the traveller. These could be used not only to play films, pop videos, infomercials but also to give interactive capabilities for ‘in-flight’ ordering by imbedding MPEG2 into HTML files.
