FAIRLIGHT ANNOUNCE QDC TECHNOLOGY AND PRODIGY-2

FAIRLIGHT have announced that their QDC technology allows post producers to work on a full 48 tracks at 96 kHz/24-bit audio at the same time on the one hard drive.
The QDC Technology engine offers unsurpassed digital audio performance and functionality. Speed and performance are significantly enhanced via the use of a distributed processor architecture employing Analogue Devices SHARC chips, delivering 40-bit floating point processing for effortless real-time DSP capability.
No matter how complex the operation, such as seamless, gapless, punch-in and punch-out across all 48 tracks to a single hard disk, the QDC engine can handle it.
Fairlight, manufacturers and marketers of digital audio editing and mixing systems for audio applications, also announced at NAB that they have expanded their Prodigy-2 Integrated Digital Audio Production System.
This new enhanced edition of the Prodigy-2 offers users expanded features and functionality in an even more powerful digital processing environment.
The new Fairlight Prodigy-2 now has enhanced channel and track capability: 32 busses, 48 tracks, 24 live feeds and up to 64 independent I/Os-32 analogue and 32 digital.
Other features of the Prodigy-2 include fully automated mixing and motorised faders, 24-bit A/D and D/A converters, an all-digital signal path with internal routing and patching, stereo and 5.1 surround monitoring and automated joystick panners, and the option to add Fairlight’s MediaLink networking, allowing enhanced and expanded file exchange with most popular workstations.
All of these features are engineered into a single, fully integrated desktop solution.
