IRELAND PROMOTED AT CANNES 2001
THE NORTHERN Ireland Film Commission (NIFC) are at the Cannes Film Festival to promote Northern Ireland as a location for feature film production.
This is the third year that the Northern Ireland Film Commission, the Irish Film Board and the Screen Commission of Ireland have worked together during the festival. Under the banner Ireland and Film, the Pavilion will be the focus for the business, information and social elements for film-makers from all over Ireland and the UK attending the festival. In addition to supporting producers from Ireland, the NIFC will be actively promoting the outstanding locations, exemplary facilities and skilled crew base available in Northern Ireland to film makers from around the world.
Richard Taylor, Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Film Commission, believes Northern Ireland has much to offer the creative producer: “The island of Ireland boasts two of the world’s best tax incentives for film - Sale and Leaseback (UK) and Section 481 (Republic of Ireland). We have everything a producer needs, from skilled crew, diverse locations, a range of facilities, including the new Paint Hall Studios, to accountants and legal firms experienced in film finance and international media law.”
