Photron USA joins Discreet’s sparks Sales Programme

Discreet has announced that sparks programme manufacturer Photron USA, the exclusive sales and distribution arm of IMAGICA Corp., has been accepted into the Discreet sparks Sales Programme.
Photron USA will be offering its high-end chromakey spark programme tool, Primatte, for Discreet’s inferno, flame and flint visual effects systems, as well as fire and smoke editing systems; and as a spark programme plug-in for Discreet’s burn Linux-based network processing solution. Primatte will also be sold by Discreet’s worldwide sales force and Discreet authorised resellers.
Primatte is a unique chromakey tool known for its intuitive interface and excellent results. The latest version has specific tools to remove colourspill, hard edges and other undesirable artefacts that often occur when compositing. Primatte is used by a number of Discreet customers, including VTR London, Digital Domain (Venice, CA), CBS Digital (Los Angeles), Rhythm & Hues (Los Angeles), Encore Hollywood, Digiscope LLC (Santa Monica) and Radium (San Francisco, Santa Monica).
“Primatte is a highly popular keying technology for accurate blue-screen compositing that is also very intuitive to use,” said Maurice Patel, Head of Product Marketing at Discreet. “The Primatte spark is seamlessly integrated into Discreet’s user interface and expands the extensive range of advanced, creative tools Discreet digital artists rely upon to solve the increasingly complex production problems they face.”
