RES PUSH VIDEO CONFERENCING

IN A MOVE to strengthen their presence in the business communications field, RES Technology Solutions have launched a major video conferencing (VC) initiative to complement their already burgeoning IT systems integration division.
This is a significant development for Wokingham-based RES and another milestone in the growth of a company experienced in supplying specialist imaging and IT solutions and dedicated to providing a comprehensive sales, support and training service.
RES Technology Solutions spokesman, Stephen Daw, said: "The video-conferencing market has been held back by low bandwidth and poor support. But using our systems integration expertise we are in the best position to help video conferencing deliver on its promise to economically connect businesses nationally and internationally.
"The technology has now caught up with the aspirations of video conferencing and we aim to be the leading supplier of VC systems within 12 months. Currently there are no dominant players in the VC market, solutions are poorly marketed and there are just a handful of companies which have the expertise to pull all the products together into a cohesive package.
"The products that we will be majoring on include Polyspan, PictureTel 900 series and Tandberg video conferencing equipment. The peripherals we have selected include products from JVC, Sony and Pioneer as well as Orion Plasma screens plus a full range of interactive projection equipment. Additionally we are a full online distributor for GTCO Calcomp interactive white boards."
RES Technology Solutions will be providing a tailored enterprise solution targeted at business applications over Internet and private networks, where security is of the highest priority.
