BBC SEEK ITC CONSENT FOR DERBY
THE ITC have received a request from the BBC for consent to broadcast live and exclusive coverage of the Derby for 2001.
This event has been listed by the Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and is covered by the ITC's ‘Code on Sports and Other Listed Events’. Therefore ITC consent is required where a broadcaster wishes to provide exclusive live coverage of an event.
The ITC are inviting other broadcasters, rights holders and interested parties to comment on the BBC's request for consent. Comments should be sent to Michael Redley, ITC, Foley Street, London, W1P 7TL by May 25 2001.
Copies of the ITC's Code on Sports and Other Listed Events revised in January 2000 are available from the ITC's website at www.itc.org.uk and from the ITC's Viewer Relations Unit. (CD)
