ELECTION WATCHERS GET ENHANCED TV SERVICES

ONDIGITAL will put television viewers in control of what they watch on Election night, with two ground-breaking services providing armchair access to all of the voting action, exclusive to ONdigital and Digital Television customers.
ITV and the BBC have both developed applications which will allow ONdigital viewers to stay abreast of the latest election news, see all the results as they are announced, as well as look behind the voting and check on what’s happening in their constituency.
To enter the BBC and ITV enhanced services, viewers will be prompted by an on-screen icon, inviting them to press the ‘red’ button on their remote control. The normal broadcast screen will reduce to allow viewers to keep an eye on the TV action while they access in-depth information, up-to-the-minute voting details and results predictions both nationally and in their region. One click on the remote will take viewers back to the full screen broadcast at any time.
As well as variations, both channels will offer sections featuring latest election headlines and scheduling, a constantly updated voting polls, plus light-hearted quizzes and competitions.
