Index Stock Shots upgrades widescreen web gallery

Index Stock Shots, an independently owned stock footage house, has upgraded its web site with a host of new moving imagery designed to showcase its collection, all shot on 35mm film and much of it transferred to HD to service the burgeoning High Definition market.
New material in the Index Gallery features shots of world icons, cityscapes and naturescapes. The section on commercial aircraft has been expanded to include specific airports, many of the selected shots showing runway activity, to add to the existing sectors containing aircraft taking off and landing, and air-to-air footage.
The Index collection is held in masters on digital and HD tape in London and Los Angeles, and access to original film is available to producers, including moviemakers and motion advertising creatives.
Index's Gerry Weinbren said: "Offering top quality in all the shots in our collection has always been a prerequisite for us, so with the arrival of broadband on both sides of the Atlantic, we can at last start demonstrating that quality on-line.
"All our displayed shots have been individually and carefully digitised in widescreen format to a level which enables us to provide a real guide to the great quality and range of our material."
The Index Gallery contains almost eighty shots in seven categories with shots ranging from the burning rubber of jet airliners' tyres on runways to the peace of the Taj Mahal, from guardsmen on parade in London to intimate shots of the Statue of Liberty, from graceful air-to-air shots of jetliners in magic hour skies to busy street scenes in Los Angeles and New York.
The Index Stock Shots collection is fully catalogued and a text-based fast search interface is available on-line alongside the moving image gallery at www.indexstockshots.com.
