MPC EQUIP WITH EDIFIS SERVERS

MOVING Picture Company (MPC) have become the first London facility to install Edifis servers in all of their telecine suites.
Following on the success of the Sting Server installed in January this year, MPC ordered a further two Sting TK systems, recently commissioned in Telecine Suites one and two.
Sting TK offers significant performance benefits over traditional solutions. The system replaces a dedicated Still Store and DDR in one channel whilst allowing a second channel to be used for simultaneous playout.
Max Horton, Senior Colourist said: " Edifis Sting TK provides a flexible and extremely large scale storage medium for grading reference pictures in the telecine environment"
Capable of uncompressed storage capacity of 11 hours, at 10 bit resolution, with integral mixer and chroma keyer, Sting TK is ideally suited for use as a colour corrector cache store, integral wipe generator for frame comparison, image retouching for sparkle and scratch removal and as a disk based conforming tool.
Other recent notable Telecine Server sales have been at The Post Office Amsterdam, also with Sting TK and VTR London, who recently purchased their second Graduate Grading and Conforming System
