INPUT VIDEO'S VIRTUAL STUDIO BOOKINGS STEADILY GROW

SINCE the opening of West London based Input Video Facilities’ Orad Virtual Studio and digital gallery at the beginning of the year, the company has seen bookings for the facility steadily grow.
Channel 5’s live coverage of the Confederations Cup, a warm up tournament for the World Cup from Japan and Korea, was hosted by Steve Scott and his guest Pat Nevin from the virtual studio at Input’s Production Centre. The studio operation accounted for nearly twenty hours of Channel 5’s output over a twelve-day period with the Final of the Tournament generating an 11 per cent audience share for the channel. Channel 5’s Controller of Sport, Robert Charles congratulated the Input technical crew on a “very professional job” over the period of the tournament.
The new ITV Sport Channel have booked the virtual studio to host their UEFA Champions League Draw Programme in August, the first time the studio will be used in the 16:9 format
Input Video’s own production team continues to keep the installation busy producing live MotoGP programming for ESPN International of the USA. The MotoGP programmes are produced using the world feed which is brought into Input Video by two diverse routes, form the BT Tower on a 270Mbit Facilityline and directly down-linked using Input’s 3.7 metre dish on the roof of their premises. The studio output is delivered to ESPN’s transmission suite in Bristol, Connecticut using NTL’s transatlantic fibre. (GB)
