Hamlet to launch Flexiscope at IBC

Announced at NAB this year, the revolutionary Flexiscope will be available for purchase right off the Hamlet stand at IBC 2004.
Flexiscope is a completely new platform for digital test and measurement, based on a bespoke digital processing engine developed for the purpose by Hamlet.
It is a palmtop device incorporating a multiformat waveform monitor, vectorscope and picture monitor, with facilities for embedded audio. It is, of course, capable of working in HD as well as standard definition.
Looking like a slightly oversize PDA, it has a 3.5" diagonal TFT screen at the top with a set of soft keys below. A speaker and a headphone socket is provided for audio confidence monitoring.
The TFT display will automatically show the picture in correct (4:3 or 16:9) aspect ratio. As a test device, it can show standard definition or HD waveform displays or vectorscope, and audio bar graphs (with PPM or VU simulated ballistics) and phase display. Data analysis is also included for digital streams, including EDH, stuck bit and colour gamut. Digital cursors are provided for accurate timing and level measurements. All processing internally is digital for maximum stability and accuracy.
To meet the portability requirement, the device is battery powered, running for more than two hours on a charge. A power adaptor is supplied for those times when the engineer is in a fixed location for a while.
