HHB PROVIDES FOCAL POINT AT IBC
RECOGNISING that the vast array of video technology on show will place demands on the time of most IBC visitors, professional audio specialists HHB Communications are designing their stand as a reference point where busy delegates can quickly find out about the important developments in broadcast sound.
Taking centre stage is HHB’s own line up of broadcast audio hardware including the Portadisc professional portable MiniDisc recorder, the CDR830 BurnIT professional audio CD recorder, Genex hi-resolution digital audio converters and multi-format recorders, and Circle active and passive studio monitors.
With its rugged build, excellent sound quality and comprehensive feature list, the HHB Portadisc is already a firm favourite with radio journalists. Designed specifically for the job, the Portadisc is equipped with balanced XLR mic inputs, coaxial and optical digital I/Os, a 6-second pre-record buffer and, uniquely, a USB interface for the transfer of audio to and from laptop computers in the field.
Also built for demanding professional use is HHB’s CDR830 BurnIT CD Recorder. The latest in a line of highly successful HHB CD-R hardware, the affordable BurnIT is fast gathering a global reputation for its exceptional sound quality.
In applications where only the highest possible levels of sonic performance are acceptable, Genex GXA8 and GXD8 converters deliver 24-bit conversion with sampling rates up to 192kHz along with optional support for DSD (Direct Stream Digital) and Pro Tools. At HHB's IBC exhibit, the new Genex converters are being demonstrated alongside the Genex GX8500 multi-format MO recorder.
Alongside HHB hardware, an ever increasing number of international broadcasters are coming to rely on the superior performance and archival security ensured by HHB recording media. The range covers all the most-popular tape and disc-based formats including DAT, CD-R, MD, MO, ADAT, DTRS, DVD-RAM and now, DVD-R, with a new disc for general V2.0 DVD recording on a wide range of drives including those in the new Macintosh G4s.
In addition to its role as a manufacturer, HHB is also one of Europe's leading suppliers of broadcast audio equipment. The HHB exhibit therefore includes a full range of essential products for which HHB is a distributor including the new Eventide Eclipse effects processor, Dolby professional multichannel codecs, the DMX-R100 digital console and DRE-S777 sampling reverb from Sony, the Rosendahl Nanosyncs reference clock generator and the LynxTWO multichannel reference audio interface.
Visiting delegates can also request a copy of the HHB Catalogue 2001. Covering 152 pages and containing detailed information and prices on 1500 professional audio products, the catalogue is considered by many to be the professional audio 'Industry Bible'.
The HHB Stand is number 12.331, located in Hall 12 opposite the Sony stand.
