BRIGHTBLUE SIGN UP TWO WAY TV

ENERGIS INTERACTIVE’S new interactive television service brightBlue have signed up Two Way TV as their number one games channel, giving Two Way TV immediate access to 5.25 million digital satellite households.
This means that Two Way TV will now be carried on every major digital TV platform in the UK.
Two Way TV on brightBlue will comprise a selection of games based on household-name TV programmes plus a range of Two Way TV’s popular original games. Pay-per-play functionality and enhanced TV programming will be available later in the year.
Two Way TV Managing Director, Matthew Tims, said: “It is now widely known that people love playing games on TV and our games channels are already the most popular on digital cable. Launching on satellite will give us complete coverage of all UK digital homes. We will be offering a great range of games and we expect to see large numbers of people paying to play games, which will generate significant revenues.”
Energis Interactive Head of Marketing, Justin Dewhirst, said: “We recognise the value that interactive games on the television have for audiences who want something more than just watching programmes. Two Way TV have shown on other platforms the pulling power of their entertaining content and expect to see a similar take-up on our service.”
The brightBlue interactive service, a joint venture between Energis Interactive and Graham Technology, will launch on Sky Digital in September. It will provide subscribers with a virtual high street for banking and shopping, travel and games, betting and recruitment services. (CD)
