BitFire Appoints President And CEO

BitFire has appointed Jim Akimchuk as president and CEO, positioning the company for continued innovation in software-defined live production and transmission.

A BitFire co-founder, Akimchuk previously served as the company's CTO, guiding its development of modern broadcast-grade internet transmission services. Today, he and the BitFire team are building on this transformational technology to make professional-grade production and delivery more accessible for broadcasters and production companies.

"BitFire was founded to solve a critical problem in broadcasting: bringing the reliability of dedicated fiber and satellite to IP video transmission," said Akimchuk. "Over the past four years, we've built a transmission network that offers synchronised, low-latency live video with the service and support professionals deserve and expect. Now, we're taking the next step and bringing that same level of broadcast-grade performance, reliability, and control to live production."

As BitFire enters this next phase of growth, the company will introduce forward-looking services that simplify the launch of live production workflows, enhance real-time collaboration, and ensure that broadcasters and content creators can affordably scale their operations without compromising on quality or reliability.

BitFire will introduce its new live production offering to the market in advance of the 2025 NAB Show, April 5-9, in Las Vegas.
