DHD to Demonstrate High-End RX2 And Compact TX2 Digital Audio Mixers
DHD is to promote its range of digital audio studio equipment and systems to broadcasters attending the February 19th - 21st FOMEX (Future of Media Exhibition) at the Arena Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
DHD will be exhibiting on booth C6 in co-operation with Dubai-based distribution partner BeamCast.
DHD audio mixing consoles vary in size from the multimodule RX2 to the compact multitouch TX2, both of which will be demonstrated at the show. They are designed for use with a DHD core processor such as the XC3 which can be located up to 100 metres from the desktop panel. DHD’s supporting Toolbox configuration software allows mixer layouts to be matched to user-specific preferences.
RX2 6-fader to 96-fader scalable mixing console
Developed for use in on-air radio and television studios, master control rooms and OB vehicles, the DHD RX2 is based on central and fader modules which can be integrated to match a wide range of radio and TV production environments. The RX2 scales easily from 6 or 12 faders up to 96 faders. Each module has a dedicated high brightness 10.1 inch touchscreen which gives access to main control and channel settings, metering and system snapshots. Assignable hardware buttons are provided in the central section, plus adaptive labels in a separate 7 inch vertical touch display. The adaptive labels provide fast and tactile access to functions such as monitoring and talkback. Supported character sets include West European, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tamil and Thai.
The central module of the RX2 houses the main audio I/Os plus a direct microphone input and a stereo headphone output. Loudspeakers can also be driven directly from this module.
Each RX2 fader module includes six dust-protected 100 mm track-length motorised faders. Every fader channel is augmented by a rotary encoder and two pushbuttons. The rotary encoder can be assigned to control gain settings, auxiliary sends, EQ parameters and dynamics. The pushbuttons are assignable to functions such as on/off, prefade listen, layer or talk.
TX2 ultra-compact audio production mixer
Designed for daily operation in newsrooms, talk studios, OB trucks, digital newsgathering vehicles and edit suites, the TX2 can be deployed standalone or as an easy way to expand any DHD system. The TX2’s forward-sloping panel includes a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen IPS display, two assignable potentiometers and six silent multicolour hardware buttons, allowing fully professional audio mixing. The number and size of faders can be configured, buttons can be assigned with the required functions and peak meters can be set to show specific channel signal levels.
The TX2 can be integrated with DHD XC3 or XD3 cores in isolation or as part of a larger mixing system and does not require a PC for operation. Frequently used connectors for projects such as for online interviews or audio dubbing can be accessed on the TX2’s 5 cm high rear panel. With its built-in talkback microphone and loudspeaker, the TX2 can also function as talkback unit or monitoring controller.
