Black Box® To Display Advanced IP KVM Solutions At ISE 2025

News Image
At ISE 2025, Black Box® will showcase its advanced IP KVM solutions, providing systems integrators, control room designers, live event producers, and Pro AV and broadcast professionals with innovative tools to enhance workflow efficiency, scalability and collaboration.

These solutions address the challenges of mission-critical environments and professional workflows, enabling real-time decision-making, seamless multisite management and intuitive teamwork across distributed operations.

Attendees will be able to explore the expanded Emerald® DESKVUE family, including the Emerald® DESKVUE PE receiver, which now supports more desktop monitors and video wall configurations. This new support makes it possible for control room operators to have four on their desks, while control rooms that require larger video walls can have arrays with 2x2, 2x4, or 4x4 layouts.

Black Box will also highlight the Emerald® 4K KVM-over-IP receiver, with support for 4K/60 and 5K (coming soon) over cost-saving 1G IP networks, and the Emerald Remote App, which enables secure, high-performance connectivity to virtual machines and physical systems — both Mac and Windows laptops — from virtually any location. These cutting-edge technologies, combined with seamless video wall control, empower professionals to create flexible, intuitive and highly reliable workflows for control rooms, studios and live events.

Emerald® KVM-Over-IP Platform
The Black Box® Emerald® KVM platform serves as an infinitely scalable universal access system, giving users the flexibility to connect to both physical and virtual machines, along with anywhere, anytime IP access over an existing IP network, WAN, or even the internet. Advanced security and industry-leading minimal bandwidth consumption enable new ways of configuring control room infrastructure for maximum expandability, incorporating local and remote users with simplified workflows, and mastering distributed control rooms. Interoperability between 4K and HD video and one-touch control room setups combine with a high degree of automation through Emerald's APIs to give users valuable flexibility and ease of use.

Emerald® DESKVUE
Offering a completely new concept in creating individually tailored workspaces, the Emerald® DESKVUE PE is the latest addition to the DESKVUE family, allowing simultaneous access and multiviewing of up to 16 different physical or virtual systems with advanced visualisation technology. At ISE 2025, Black Box® will demonstrate the award-winning DESKVUE PE KVM-over-IP receiver. With any DESKVUE model, all systems are displayed as individual windows on up to four 4K monitors, including one ultrawide curved 5K monitor. Users can arrange system “tiles” or “windows” in any way to focus their main tasks in the center. Switching of the systems happens automatically in the background as users perform their tasks without them even noticing the system change, removing any need for manual switching commands. Emerald® AV WALL, a software feature inside Emerald DESKVUE, makes it easy to display a single source from an Emerald system on a video wall for viewing by a larger group. The solution directly supports a 2x2 video wall, and through additional units, users can expand to up to 4x4 supported monitors.

Emerald® GE Gateway
Black Box® will showcase the Emerald® GE Gateway, which connects seamlessly to the Emerald IP-based KVM network to give all Emerald users enhanced simultaneous virtual machine (VM) connectivity with RDP or PCoIP (ultra) VM sharing. Up to eight users can each access up to eight VM sessions through a single Emerald GE unit, saving the cost of additional RDP or PCoIP clients. Using intuitive dashboards created with the Black Box Boxilla® KVM management system, IT administrators can manage and monitor Emerald GE via a centralised system.

Emerald® 4K: 1G Connectivity for Increased Cost Savings
With support for 4K/60 and 5K (coming soon) over 1G connections, the Black Box solution allows users to reduce deployment of 10G switches within the IP KVM network and, in turn, lower their infrastructure costs.

Emerald® Remote App: Enhanced With Support for Both macOS and Windows
The Black Box® Remote App for the Emerald® Unified KVM platform is a software-based solution that turns a user laptop or computer into a KVM receiver to give authorised users access to sources — PCs, servers, virtual machines — across the KVM network. At ISE 2025, Black Box will highlight the latest Emerald Remote App enhancement: support for macOS X and Windows 10/11, a valuable capability for iOS users in professional broadcast applications.

Supporting multiple simultaneous connections and industry-leading image quality up to 60 fps full HD video, the Emerald Remote App is ideal for tasks such as process monitoring and control. With authentication against the award-winning Boxilla® KVM network manager, the software offers users a convenient list of connections and provides access quickly and easily, just like a standard hardware-based system. Because the Emerald Remote App is not tethered to a fixed location, users can access the Emerald KVM network from anywhere using their own computer or laptop. As a software solution, the Emerald Remote App deploys quickly and cost-effectively and can be maintained simply through regular updates.
