GRADING SCHEME TO INCLUDE UNIONS AND EMPLOYERS

A NEW joint industry grading scheme is proposed involving unions and employers.
Preliminary discussions have taken place involving BECTU, Equity, PACT, BBC, Carlton and Granada to introduce a new structure to oversee film and television industry grading schemes.
Schemes have historically existed in safety critical areas such as Special Effects (the Special Effects Grading Scheme), Stunts (Equity Stunts Register) and Rigging (SITAC).
It is now proposed to pull these together into a new Joint Industry Grading Scheme under a single legal umbrella, managed both by employers and unions. (CD)
