Broadcast Electronics, part of the Elenos Group, has announced the launch of ETX, the company's newest FM transmitter.

ETX leverages capabilities from the company’s popular BE STX line and the cost effective Elenos ETG transmitters to deliver world class efficiency, exceptional RF performance, and ability to sharply reduce costs associated with operational expense and maintenance. The ETX line is currently shipping and on the air in the US and Latin America with models ranging from 600 watts to 5kW.

Broadcast Electronics ETX series combines the best characteristics from the Elenos ETG family and the BE STX line of transmitters to deliver a high-performance, cost-effective solution with models from 600 W to 5 kW. Leveraging the highly efficient and compact RF technology of the ETG series upgraded with the latest ruggedised LDMOS RF devices, the ETX provides the efficiency – up to 75%, compactness, and reliability today’s broadcasters expect.

Drawing from BE's decades of providing the best-sounding FM exciter on the market, ETX includes a digital direct-to-channel FM modulator and ultra-reliable highly efficient hot-pluggable power supplies to deliver the maintainability and robustness of the STX range to provide our customers with a new level of performance and reliability at an exceptional price.

ETX's simple yet powerful control system provides extensive monitoring, logging, and control capabilities with fast-acting protection for maximum reliability. A front panel LCD screen, navigation buttons and bright LED indicators allow easy review, setup, and diagnostics. The RJ-45 port allows you to connect to the intuitive and powerful HTML-5 GUI and SNMP from anywhere in the world. Programable parallel GPI/O interface provides connectivity to a traditional remote-control system.

ETX can eliminate multiple outboard boxes with cost-effective options like – multiband audio processing software with composite clipper, Off Air receiver for FM and HD Radio®—ideal for a translator, integrated AOIP solutions including AES 67, Icecast, or the popular μMPX, all integrated into our simple easy to use web GUI. The ETX line can support FM single-frequency network (SFN) deployments, and flexible backup options like N+1.

"With ETX, Broadcasters no longer have to tradeoff between high performance and cost-effective solutions for compact FM transmitters," said Rich Redmond, President, and COO of Broadcast Electronics - Elenos Group. "In addition to the low operating costs the ETX can save even more by leveraging simple yet powerful integrated options like multi-band audio processing, IP codecs including μMPX and even an off-air rebroadcast receiver adding up to thousands of dollars in savings all with BE’s legendary US based support."
