Lawo To Present IP-Solutions For Media Production
At MPTS in London, Lawo (booth M30) will show IP-based solutions for the media production industry.
With its HOME Apps, Lawo presents the abstraction of broadcast and media functionality from the hardware that does the compute heavy lifting. Designed with Lawo-grade processing quality in a nifty, containerised software guise, HOME Apps can be spun up and down instantly via HOME’s intuitive user interface, which will conveniently preserve your settings for future use. App usage is based on permanent licenses for constant, long-term availability, if so desired.
A new member of the HOME Apps family, the ultra-low-latency HOME mc² DSP app is a server-based, agile audio engine, combining the superior flexibility of the HOME Apps platform in terms of connectivity and scalability with Lawo's legendary audio processing quality. The HOME mc² DSP app can be used together with mc² mixing consoles or to instantiate a (virtual) mixing system at the press of a button wherever audio processing is required at short notice.
HOME mc² DSP is the audio processing companion of choice for converging video/audio production environments. With all features known from the A__UHD Core FPGA processing platform in a CPU-based package, it allows operators to spin up mc²-grade DSP processing with hitherto unthinkable granularity. As a member of the HOME Apps platform, the HOME mc² DSP app benefits from the agility afforded by the abstraction of processing functionality from the hardware: it leverages Lawo's Flex licensing and subscription model, allowing users to reallocate subscription credits to any available HOME App, whether audio or video, for tight budget control. It is also easy to “move” from one location—the production hub, say—to another, such as an OB truck or a remote location.
Lawo's compact mc²36 xp audio production console with external DSP processing supports up to 256 DSP channels. It offers Lawo's known audio quality, IP network and processing redundancy, and multi-slice console array capability, based on a single A__UHD core processing unit. Depending on optional pooling licenses, the DSP power of one A__UHD core can be shared between 4, 8, 16 or 32 virtual or physical console surfaces, enabling cost-effective premium-class audio processing. The mc²36 xp supports 48kHz and 96kHz operation, state-of-the-art immersive audio mixing, and all relevant IP standards (ST2110, AES67/RAVENNA, ST2022-7). It is HOME-native and offers seamless data portability with its mc² siblings.
Visitors of Lawo partner Broadcast Bionics (N42) can experience the modular Lawo diamond radio broadcast console for radio and TV applications, an IP-native mixing system based on the open AES67/RAVENNA Audio-over-IP networking standards. It also complies with ST2110-30/-31 and ST2022-7. Powered by the Lawo Power Core Engine, diamond provides expandable I/O, accommodating AES67, MADI, analog, AES3 as well as Dante® audio sources and destinations. Modular by design, diamond is available in configurations from 2 to 60 physical faders, either as desktop or flush-mounted build. Fader-adjacent color displays give extended source information, and two fader layers allow operators to instantly switch between multiple tasks. diamond is the first Lawo console for radio applications to feature Lawo’s Unified Experience user interface that puts users first.
