TURBO SQUID FORM ALLIANCE WITH SOFTIMAGE

TURBO SQUID Corporation, one of the world’s fastest growing marketplace for 3-D models and digital assets, have announced they have formed a strategic alliance with Softimage a division of Avid Technology.
Softimage will integrate Turbo Squid’s web client with the SOFTIMAGE|XSI NetView feature, while Turbo Squid will host a collection of assets in Softimage’s dotXSI format on their website at www.turbosquid.com. Using Turbo Squid as a content resource, XSI artists will have direct access to the world’s fastest growing supply of 3-D models.

The ability to access Turbo Squid’s growing collection of 3-D assets through the XSI NetView feature will provide a rich resource of content for Softimage’s non linear animation system.
Games developers and artists will be able to search the assets in the Turbo Squid library for 3-D models, textures and shaders in the dotXSI format. Using 3-D elements that have already been created saves an enormous amount of development time, streamlining the production process and allowing animators to focus on their creativity. (CD)
