GRANADA ANNOUNCE NEW TEAM FOR ‘THIS MORNING’

GRANADA HAVE announced that a new team is to present ITV’s daytime show ‘This Morning’.
The team are: Coleen Nolan, Twiggy, Fern Britton and John Leslie. They will work together on a rotation basis, with two presenters fronting the show each day.
The award-winning programme will return to ITV in early September ending speculation as to who will take up the hottest seats in daytime television. The new look programme will feature a different set, increase its topical coverage and undertake more outside broadcasts, while continuing its traditional mix of information and entertainment.
Nolan said: “I’m absolutely over the moon. I’ve always been a huge fan of ‘This Morning’ and I feel so honoured to be asked – it’s such a big job. I’m very nervous, but really looking forward to it. Hopefully, I’ll just be myself on the show – I’m just like anyone sitting at home watching the show. I hope I’ll just make people smile.”
Fern Britton and John Leslie are already familiar faces on ‘This Morning’, as they were regular Friday presenters during the last series.
Executive Producer, Charlie Bunce, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to sign up such a talented team. Between them, they possess an enormous range of skills and experience. We’re really looking forward to getting the new show on air.”
Alongside the presenters, Mark Simpkin joins the team as a reporter. And resident experts will be on hand to help with the programme’s much-loved phone-in and lifestyle slots, including Dr Chris Steele, agony aunt Denise Robertson and psychiatrist Dr Raj Persaud.
Florist and garden expert Carl Wilde returns, as does Lorne Spicer, with her eye for a bargain. Diet and fitness expert Joanne Hall will return with another of her hugely successful diets and award-winning chef Phil Vickery will have a bi-weekly cookery section. The programme’s famous makeover team will again include fashion expert John Scott. (CD)
