MediaKind To Showcase Latest Technology And Solutions At NAB 2023
MediaKind (#W2100) will take the spotlight at the NAB Show 2023 (April 16-19) to showcase its latest broadcast and video streaming technology and solutions and to discuss the latest monetization approaches behind some of the most successful premium live streaming applications.
Visitors will experience MediaKind's innovative video streaming approach that combines high-quality AI-based 4K upscaling, massive bandwidth savings brought by Versatile Video Coding (VVC), and large energy savings gained from hardware acceleration without any quality compromise.
MediaKind will demonstrate new monetization scenarios that include DRM-protected ultra-low latency streaming for premium interactive events, advanced playback controls for monetizing short segments, and the automated creation of video summaries.
The company will also illustrate how operators can leverage its technology and public cloud storage to create next-generation Cloud DVR services.
As part of the Streaming Summit, MediaKind will join the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Microsoft on stage to explain how its cloud architecture has expanded scale, improved feature rollout velocity, upgraded video quality, and enhanced advertising control for the all-new NBA League Pass App (further details below).
Deployed by over 2,000 of the world's largest broadcast, operator, media and entertainment, and managed services companies, MediaKind understands the diversity of operations and the need to support a variety of workflows across a wide range of infrastructures. Its technology can scale across public and private clouds, edge, and private data centers. Thanks to a rich ecosystem of partners, MediaKind's solutions also expand beyond their core capabilities through joint partnerships with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Arqiva, Net Insight, Tellyo, Equativ, as well as Qibb and BCNEXXT, who will be featured on the stand.
Visitors will also learn how MediaKind's customers can increase average revenue per user (ARPU) and customer lifetime value (CLTV) by unlocking new pay-per-view models to achieve higher CPMs, exploit the FAST opportunity, and grow audience reach and advertising revenue.
Allen Broome, CEO, MediaKind, commented: "The entire MediaKind team is eager to deliver even more innovation at our booth this year. Seeing how far we have come since last year’s NAB Show is truly exciting. With the rise of D2C, FAST, AVOD, Ultra Low Latency (ULL), and other novel content distribution and monetization models, we are operationalizing more streaming experiences than ever in our company's history."
In recognition of its leadership, MediaKind is moderating an executive panel on Monday, 17 April (10.45am PDT) at the NAB Streaming Summit conference. Alongside representatives from Microsoft and the NBA, the panel will present a case study on how it helped rebuild the NBA League Pass application. Attendees will hear about functionality not typically found in OTT sports streaming apps. Examples include multiple feeds synchronized to the game and wall clocks, better-targeted ad insertion, streaming latency lower than cable, and added support for a wide array of complex and dynamic entitlements to facilitate monetization and enforcement of linear rights globally.
At the BEITC Conference, MediaKind will also present a practical application for a live sports events-based service that taps into the cloud to offer improved scalability, using automated workflows to reflect the transitory nature of live events. The talk – on Monday, 17 April (10am PDT) – will explore how open-source monitoring and visualization tools can bridge the gap between media services, software, processing, and infrastructure, to provide a complete view of system behavior.
