Leitch HD/SD solution purchased by Gearhouse Broadcast for EURO 2004

Leitch Technology have announced that they will provide Gearhouse Broadcast with a combined standard and high-definition solution to support its processing and distribution requirements for UEFA EURO 2004, which will be held in Portugal between June 12 – July 4.
Gearhouse Broadcast, specialists in equipment rental, sales and project solutions, has been appointed by host broadcasters Euro Broadcast Services (EBS) to supply the 10 technical operation centres, technical staff and cabling for all the Portuguese stadiums.
The processing and distribution solution supplied by Leitch comprises multiple high-definition routing systems in various sizes, an array of video and audio distribution amplifiers and a complete base of critical interface product. Gearhouse Broadcast will also use the Leitch system during the 2004 Athens Summer Games, where the company will play a role as part of Athens Broadcast Services - an organization set up specifically to cater to the broadcast requirements of non-rights holders during the event.
In total, three 64 x 64 Integrator SDI routers, two 64 x 64 Integrator Gold HD SDI routers and five 64 x 64 stereo analogue levels have been purchased to meet the large-scale routing requirements of Gearhouse Broadcast projects, along with more than 50 compact Panacea routing switchers of varying sizes for smaller routing applications.
Gearhouse Broadcast has also invested in Leitch's 6800+ audio and video distribution and signal processing range, with SDI distribution amplifiers facilitating high-quality conversion between SDI and analogue video signals.
The system is rounded out by a variety of interface product including SDI Framestore synchronizers, embedders, de embedders, logo inserters and A-D, D-A converters.
