TV2 Norway selects Pro-Bel for central router expansion

Pro-Bel, the premier manufacturer and supplier of routing, signal processing, master control and automation equipment, has announced that TV2 in Norway has further expanded its use of the company's technology with a significant upgrade of its central router.
The deal was conducted through Video 4, Pro-Bel's Norwegian dealer.
TV2, a privately-owned, commercial broadcaster headquartered in Bergen with additional offices and studios in Oslo, has expanded its Eclipse router, which has been in service as the broadcaster's central matrix since 2000. TV2 has expanded SDI capability from 192 x 192 to 256 x 256. It has also purchased an AES 256 x 256 frame equipped 128 x 128.
The broadcaster is now running two AES frames, both equipped 128 x 128, one for levels 1 and 2 and one for levels 3 and 4. Terje Amundsen, System Engineer, explained that this will now allow two stereo AES streams around the complete main facility.
TV2 selected Eclipse because of the routers compact design and the fact that it was easily expandable in the field. "When it came to the full implementation of AES 3 and 4 we, of course, wanted the ability to use the same router as already deployed for our SDI and AES 1 and 2 signals. Eclipse provided that ability, we are very happy with the way that Pro-Bel has supported us with our purchase and its expansion."
