Radio Nauru Selects AEQ CAPITOL IP Console
Nauru is a country located in Micronesia - central Pacific Ocean.
A single island coutry with a 23Km2 area. Its population of 10.000 is the world´s second-smallest overseas after Vatican City. This pleasant island is the place where Radio Nauru was founded in 1968 as the only government-owned non-commercial radio station. It operates as the Nauru Broadcasting Service, launching it's content via online and on 105.1MHz FM from its facilities in Yaren - main city of the island.
Radio Nauru offers a wide range of programms, including traditional culture, news, classical music, as well as ancest local music. It also broadcasts some programs from Radio Australia and BBC.
Traditionally, Radio Nauru has always worked with analogue equipment. But recently, the technical management of the radio station has decided to upgrade one of its studios with digital technology and have choosen the AEQ CAPITOL IP console as the heart of the new studio.
In the process of selection for such an important equipment, due to the characteristics of the installation and the operators, the main challenge was to choose a mixer that would offer maximum audio quality with the best digital features. The other main request was to select a very user-friendly and robust mixer due geographic isolation of the country.
AEQ CAPITOL IP is an 8-channel fixed configuration Digital Audio mixing console. CAPITOL IP features IP connectivity on a single module of 16 input and 16 output channels. The main advantage of AEQ CAPITOL IP is the wide input capacity available: 4 mic/line, 12 analogue, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB, 2 optional telephone lines and optional digital multichannel audio links; 16 AoIP channels over two Ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels input over optical fibre.
Currently AEQ technology is delployed in 105 countries around the world, in cities like London, NY or Tokyo, or very remote places like the Amazon, Sahel or Pacific Ocean. Nowadays, ther are more than 5500 radio stations and 1700 TV stations where AEQ equipment is part of the daily operation.
