CARLTON APPOINT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

CARLTON Communications have announced today that Etienne de Villiers is joining their Board with immediate effect as a Non-Executive Director.
Villiers, 52, spent 14 years at The Walt Disney Company. Based in London, he was most recently the President and Managing Director of Walt Disney International Europe, responsible for directing all Disney's activities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Prior to this he was President of Walt Disney Television International, responsible for Disney and ABC television broadcast, production and distribution operations outside the USA.
Established in 1994, the broadcast divisions created ten Disney Channels outside the US, and held equity interests in pay-TV movie services and several terrestrial broadcasters including RTL2, Super RTL, and GMTV, on whose Board he served.
Michael Green, Chairman of Carlton Communications, said: "Etienne brings a rare combination of experience in both the television industry and international business, and will be a major addition to the Board." (CD)
